Toni English grew up in a military family and traveled all over the US and to Japan. Her childhood was filled with an appreciation for different customs and cultures. She is a wife, mother and grandmother and is enjoying retired life near the coast.
Toni is a woman of strong faith and when she received her diagnosis for Sinonasal Mucosal Melanoma in 2015, the only thing she knew to do was put whatever was ahead of her in God’s hands. She used her treatment journey as an opportunity to share her testimony of faith. At the time of diagnosis, Toni was given 6 months to live. Her faith and determination to find a treatment that would change that outcome became her passion. After a couple of years of failed treatments, and exhausting every option, the next conversation with her oncologist was earth shaking. He offered her an opportunity to participate in a clinical trial. She qualified to be a part of a phase 2 trial for TIL therapy. Toni received her TIL treatment in April 2018 and was declared cancer free 6 months later. As a part of the Mucosal Melanoma Warrior community, Toni continues to support and encourage other warriors on their journeys and considers this a way to pay it forward.

Diagnosed in 2015 with Stage 4 Sinonasal Mucosal Melanoma

Surgery with clean margins followed by radiation

Metastases to brain, lungs and kidney in 2016

Received Keytruda and Opdivo/Yervoy immunotherapies with no response, Gamma Knife radiation to brain with positive response

Accepted into Iovance clinical trial for TIL (Tumor Infiltrating Lymphocytes) Therapy in 2018

Received TIL therapy April 2018 - No evidence of disease October 2018

Continue to be cancer-free
