Summary: Dr. Craig Slingluff, a surgical oncologist at the University of Virginia, has been working on the possibility of a tumor vaccine since 1996. The UVA team has witnessed significant preliminary successes. In a small trial at UVA, four patients experienced tumor shrinkage or stabilization for between one and seven years with their melanoma vaccine alone.
